Soy United Pass Another Pre-Season Test in Tri-Build-Ups.

Soy United Football Club intensified their pre-season preparations on Saturday, 12 September, with three build-up matches at their training base, Ivugwi Grounds in Soy, as the club continues preparations for the 2026/27 National Super League season.

The Blue Eagles hosted Great Rift FC from Eldoret, Oinopsos FC from Baringo and neighbors Nangili Sportiff, with the series providing an opportunity to assess the team's tactical awareness, cohesion, organization and overall match readiness.
In the opening fixture, Soy United shared the spoils with Great Rift FC in a 1-1 draw. Substitute Erick Namasaka broke the deadlock for the hosts before Great Rift FC levelled in stoppage time following a defensive lapse.

In the second encounter, the Blue Eagles produced an emphatic 5-0 victory over Oinopsos FC. Festus Maza marked his return from a prolonged injury layoff in style, scoring a hat-trick, before assistant captain John Khanda completed the rout with a brace. The commanding display underlined the side's growing sharpness in the attacking third.

In the final match of the day, Soy United maintained their unbeaten pre-season run with a 2-1 victory over Nangili Sportiff. John Khanda and Erick Namasaka were once again on the scoresheet as the hosts wrapped up an impressive day of action.

Speaking on the team's progress during the ongoing pre-season, winger Festus Maza expressed satisfaction with the strides made in camp, crediting the collective effort and strong team spirit for the positive momentum.

“I am really pleased with how we are continuing with the training. It is in high gear, with everyone committed to the course. The energy and team spirit from my teammates, coaches and the support staff is fantastic, and I believe this will carry us a lot in the coming National Super League season,” he said.

The friendly series also marked the beginning of new head coach George Owoko's reign on the touchline. Owoko was appointed last Monday to lead the club into the 2026/27 campaign on a two year deal, replacing former coach Jeffers Odongo who left to join top-flight side, Mara Sugar FC.

Soy United have now played six test matches since resuming pre-season preparations in late July, recording five victories and one draw, remaining unbeaten as the new campaign draws closer.
