Khanda, Kamura to miss Saturday’s clash against Mwatate.
Ahead of this weekend’s National Super League match day 27 away encounter, Soy United will be without several key players due to injury, illness, and personal matters.
Leading the list of absentees is experienced forward John Khanda, who suffered an Achilles tendon injury during the warm-up ahead of last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Darajani Gogo at the ASK Showground, Eldoret. The winger has been ruled out of the trip, with the medical team estimating a recovery period of up to two weeks.
Central defender Robinson Kamura will also miss out for the second consecutive match as he continues rehabilitation after picking up a hamstring injury in the 1-0 loss to Gucha Stars two weeks ago.
Goalkeeper Morgan Ambuka Alube remains sidelined with a thigh injury sustained during a midweek regeneration session, while Victor Maliachi is unavailable after being diagnosed with malaria.
Head coach Jeffers Odongo acknowledged the setback but remains optimistic ahead of the fixture. “It is unfortunate we will miss the services of John, Kamura, and Morgan due to injuries when we take on Mwatate. However, we have a good balance in the team and we believe their replacements will step up and deliver.”
The Blue Eagles head into the clash aiming to build momentum after returning to winning ways last weekend, securing their first victory in two months.
