Blue Eagles snaps Kevin Owidi in a midseason move.

Soy United is delighted to announce the signing of versatile midfielder Kevin Owidi on a permanent transfer.

The 27-year-old anchorman joins the Blue Eagles from National Super League rivals Kisumu Allstars, a place he has been a regular starter in the first stanza of the National Super League this season; adding depth, experience, and steel to the club’s midfield. Owidi becomes Soy United’s fifth acquisition of the 2025/26 midseason transfer window.

An alumnus of Nyanza region football powerhouse Kisumu Day High School, Owidi is comfortable operating across all three midfield roles, making him a truly versatile asset for the team.

Speaking on the signing, Team Manager Kelvin Wamalwa described Owidi’s arrival as a timely boost to the squad.

“He is a player we have been monitoring for a while, He understands the league very well and brings the kind of balance, discipline, and versatility we have been looking for in midfield. His ability to play in different roles fits perfectly into our system, and we believe his experience will be key as we push forward this season,” Wamalwa noted.

On his part, the former Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) player expressed his delight at penning a deal with the NSL newcomers, revealing his admiration for the club’s ongoing project and his determination to help the team achieve its set targets.

“I am very excited to join this ambitious club. Soy United is one of the best-assembled teams locally, and the project being implemented here is impressive, I am delighted to be part of the journey as we chase history and work towards achieving promotion", Owidi said in his first session with the club's press unit.
