Kenyan International goalkeeper Morgan Ambuka joins Soy United

Soy United is delighted to announce the signing of experienced Kenyan international goalkeeper Morgan Alube Ambuka, who joins the club on a permanent transfer.

The custodian links up with the Blue Eagles from SportPesa League newcomers APS Bomet FC, bringing invaluable experience, leadership, command, and depth to the club’s goalkeeping department as the 2025/26 FKF National Super League season continues.

Morgan reunites with head coach Jeffers Odongo, with whom he previously worked together during his pioneer football days in Kisumu county.

Speaking on the acquisition, goalkeeper coach Isaac Sawanga hailed Ambuka as a timely and valuable addition to the squad, noting that his presence will inject healthy competition and balance within the goalkeeping unit.

Speaking on the acquisition, goalkeeper coach Isaac Sawanga hailed Ambuka as a timely and valuable addition to the squad, noting that his presence will inject healthy competition and balance within the goalkeeping unit.

“He is a great goalkeeper whom I have followed for a while. He possesses all the attributes of a modern-day keeper. His experience will be of great value to our young duo of Monio and Omuse, and I am confident he will meet the demands we have at stake,” said coach Sawanga.

Ambuka has previously featured for Muhoroni Youth, Chemelil Sugar, Vihiga United, and Murang’a Seal across both top-flight and NSL competitions. During the 2024/25 season, he was among the standout goalkeepers in the league, a run of impressive performances that earned him his maiden call-up to the Harambee Stars for several assignments, including the Mapinduzi Cup held in Zanzibar in January 2025.

In the same year, the 28-year-old was close to featuring in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), narrowly missing out during the final squad selection.

Morgan Ambuka becomes Soy United’s fourth mid-season signing, following the arrivals of Mohammed Wangai, Robinson Kamura, and Moses Shikanda.
