MATCH PREVIEW: Soy United vs Gucha Stars FC
Soy United will host Gucha Stars this afternoon in a rescheduled National Super League fixture at the ASK Showground, Eldoret, with kick-off set for 3:00 PM.
The encounter marks the third meeting between the two second-tier debutants and their first clash in the National Super League. Their previous meetings came during the 2024/25 FKF National Division One Zone B season, where the Kisii-based Gucha Stars edged Soy United in both legs with identical 1–0 scorelines.
The Blue Eagles head into the match in high spirits after recording four consecutive wins since the start of 2026. That impressive run has lifted them to 7th place on the league standings with 28 points, and a victory today would see them climb to 5th position.
Gucha Stars, on the other hand, will be desperate to turn their fortunes around. Coached by veteran tactician Sammy Okoth, the visitors are still searching for their first win of the year, having collected just two points from a possible twelve in their last four outings in January. Sitting close to the relegation zone, Gucha will be eager to claim a morale-boosting result.
Soy United defender Elvis Shamala expressed confidence ahead of the clash, citing the team’s recent form and home advantage as key factors.
“We have really sharpened our blades ready for this clash, and from the current positive mood in the team, we believe we will get the right results. Being a home match, the desire to win in front of our fans gives us extra motivation,” said Shamala.
However, the left-footed defender also urged caution, warning against underestimating the visitors. “We must be aware that they will come in full swing to prove a point. Being near the bottom makes them dangerous, so we have to stay alert from start to finish and put in a strong shift,” added the former APS Bomet and Kajiado FC player.
The match kicks off at 3:00 PM. Tickets will be available at the gate priced at Kshs. 100 (Regular) and Kshs. 200 (VIP), with payments strictly via M-PESA Till Number 6678776. Fans unable to attend can catch the action live on Soy United TV on YouTube.
